Ian Preston is a hugely experienced Dj who possesses a professional attitude and manner, and always behaves in a discreet, polite and respectful way towards your guests. He sets up the equipment at a convenient time so no disruption is caused during your reception and he is always conscious that this is the most important days of a bride and grooms life.

Ian offers services other than DJ ing including Singing; he was in an ABBA tribute band in 2006 and more recently has been a guest singer with Marbella Big Band and Ian is trained vocally by Jenny Gucci.

At weddings he performs a Swing Set incorporating the old favorites such as ‘Mack the knife’ and ‘My Way’ but also adds his own unique twist performing modern songs in a swing style such as Valerie and The way you make me feel. This is becoming increasingly popular and works particularly well at weddings as it is fantastic music to listen and dance to and is enjoyed by guests of all ages.

Ian is also pleased to offer his services of Toast Master/Host which can sometimes make the difference between a good night and a great night. The duties carried out would include coordinating specific events such as working with the photographer, announcing the bride and groom into the hall, cutting the cake and organising champagne for the toasts with the venue staff. He will keep all the relevant persons informed such as the photographer/videographer so no important events are missed. He will announce the speeches and direct the guests throughout the evening ensuring the bride and groom, and respective parents are free to relax and enjoy every moment of the reception.

The music is crucial at a wedding and each part of the reception requires different types of music. Through his vast experience Ian has just the right selection of background music during the Cocktail Reception and Wedding Breakfast, leading onto the night time. He is aware of the often varying age groups of guests, both when it comes to the music played and the volume at which it is played at. By welcoming a few favourite songs or don’t play songs from the bride and groom prior to the day, Ian can ascertain the type of music you would wish to hear or that has a special meaning.

Every wedding is unique however if booked for his full package of Host, Singing and Dj-ing, Ian has perfected a format which keeps the evening running really smoothly:

1. Arriving early to set up his equipment.
   Greet your guests as they arrive taking coats and relieving of gifts.
   Provide background music throughout the cocktail reception and wedding breakfast, and direct the guests when necessary.
   Announce the speeches and each individual speaker.
   Announce the cutting of the cake.
   Perform the first part of the ‘Swing Set’ after the meal.
   Invite the bride and groom onto the floor for the ‘First Dance’
   Continue with the ‘Swing Set’.
   Dj until the end of the night.

Ian is regularly booked for private parties particularly for birthday parties of those important milestones.
